New year new me!

So I must confess, I've let myself go. But that's okay bc I'm changing that as of now! Between yesterday and today I have counted my calories and today I did my first work out since JUNE!!! I was going to go for a walk tonight but I think I'll pass and just do my jog again tomorrow. My goal is to be a size 10 by my birthday the end of April. I'm going to do my best to get there! I'm a size 18/20 now. So here's to new beginnings and a new me and new life style!!!

I'm back!

Gah! I know its been a while but I promise I have a good excuse.

The last few months I got word that I was getting discharged from the CG. Not something that I am happy about at all esp. since I was due to get out in July. But I've been busy with medical appointments and what nots. But the last 2 weeks I've been on terminal leave, only to have spent last week sick in bed with a sinus infection.

YUCK!

I'm still getting over it, but at least I can somewhat function in society without wanting to crawl under the covers and die!

But my terminal leave is coming to an end and my discharge date is looming. So I have to get the whip cracking on finding a job. I've put in two applications already, one with the Navy Exchange, and with the Day Care that PAC man goes to. I actually didn't even know that the DC was hiring, until I was talking to one of the ladies that work there and she told me to apply. Geoff says that he thinks I might get the job there, I just hope that I get "A" job!

I'm having my first real Scentsy party this Friday. It's called "Sweet as a Peach Scentsy Party", because the June SOTM (scent of the month) is "Peach a la Mode". And it smells so yummy!!! Wednesday I get my July SOTM which is "Happy Birthday"! I can't wait! I love things that smell like cake! And when pay day comes I asked Geoff to get me the warmer for July, which is a CUPCAKE!!!!! AHH! I can't wait! It looks so freaking cute! I just can't pass it up! Just so you know, you can order items without having to physically be at my party.

I'll Follow My Nose, Wherever It Goes...

SO, I have just started to sell Scentsy.

What is Scentsy you ask?? Well! It is the most amazing thing to have hit your nostrils! It is wickless candles. Basically, you buy a warmer and the wax, and you get to melt the wax releasing the pleasant aroma throughout your house without having to worry about a flame (because there is no wick to light), or soot (because you don't have any flame). Until I came across Scentsy I didn't realize that lighting a candle (which I love to do) is not good for me. The soot from the burning wick fills the air, and can even ruin your walls (yuck)! Also with having my son (who is already 1) I don't worry about my candle tipping over and catching things on fire (once he gets bigger and is able to reach on top of the counters).

That is always a fear of mine, and it goes back to a childhood memory...

I had to be about 4 years old, and it was just after Christmas. My mother had the stove on (to either make tea or cook dinner), but she was in the bedroom my brother and I shared putting away our Christmas gifts. My 2 year old brother was playing with his new toy mop that he gotten for Christmas, while I played quietly in the living room under the tree. He had the mop head up, slung over his shoulders and "marched" around our small apartment. When he got to the kitchen, the head of the mop caught on fire from the stove, he saw the flames in the reflection of the glass door for the stereo, dropped his mop on the carpet and ran for his crib! My mother noticed his "odd" behavior and looked and she saw the reflection in the glass. She was able to put it out before it spread luckily, but had she not, it wouldn't have been a nice holiday.

Now that I am a mother I worry about things like that. I don't want to be paranoid, but at times I can't help it. Which is why I love Scentsy so much!

There are so many different fragrances! Not only do they have the warmers and the wax, but they have other things that do not need an electrical source. There are travel tins (which are GREAT for lockers), scent circles (perfect for your car), and Scent Buddies (stuffed animals) that you can put a scent pack into and they make your new cuddly friend smell delightful!

They also have a scent and warmer of the month every month! This month the scent is "Amber Roads" and the warmer is "Magellan". The scent has more of a manly-er tone, and it is very strong. I only use one cube in my warmer and it fills up my whole living room. You may be thinking "uhm, why a manly scent and warmer when its the month that Mother's Day falls on"? Well its simple! Amber Roads and Magellan came out in May for Father's Day (June).

First Blog

Hey all its Jess!! I'm going to tell you a little bit about me. I am 22 years old. I am married and my husband and I have a beautiful baby boy (8 months old). I am currently working full time, but that will change over this summer, because I will be going to school as a full time student, so I will need to find another job and work part time. I plan on going to school to become an Elementary School teacher. I love kids!

I also have 2 dogs, Charlie and Rusty. Charlie is a pomeranian, he is 2 years old. Rusty is a dachshund and he is about 5 months old.

I used to live in a big city, but now with my husband and I's jobs we move around a lot. We currently live in a small city, and we don't really like it. But, we make due with what we have.

I love to read, and write, and be very crafty! I love to crochet. I actually taught myself online. And since I am left handed I had to print everything out and hold it in front of a mirror so it will look right to me. I've been crocheting for about 10 years and I love it! Its a great stress reliever for me, and I love the finished out come.

I also scrapbook. I am currently making one for my son that will be of his life. Its a lot of work and planning for scrapbooking, so I find that I don't do that as often as I crochet.

I love to sing and act! I would love to get involved with a community theater group where I live, but b/c of work I'm not so sure how that would work out.

Another thing that I love, is makeup!!!! I am an addict!!! I recently started up my own Youtube channel. I personally think that it's bad compared to all the other "beauty gurus" out there, but like I said, I just started. I'm pretty sure that with time I will get better. Right now I think that I have like 5 subscribers (yeah, pretty pathetic). I would love to have like 10 by Easter..... I doubt that it will happen, but we will see.
